Welcome to Head Heart Hands Counseling. My name is Sarah Jeffryes and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and a credentialed school counselor (PPSC). I have a private practice in California where I provide therapeutic mental health services to children/adolescents, families and schools.  

Head Heart Hands Counseling was founded on Neurodiversity affirming principles. I focus on the importance of developing a strong sense of self within a child to equip them with the capacity to receive, process and interact with an uncertain and ever-changing world in a resilient and meaningful way.

I believe in seeing and treating the whole child, removing the limits of labels without losing the focus of specific diagnosis and therapy in order to help translate the child’s challenges into their unique gifts. Often, challenges that surface in childhood are opportunities for growth and learning. They represent a chance for the child to find their authentic sense of self, of others, and of their place in the world. When these challenges are approached in a loving, supportive, and strength-based way, we can help the child grow more confidently into themselves. I believe in meeting the needs of children in a safe, collaborative, and compassionate manner by building on their existing strengths and resiliency in addition to offering support to the people and structures that surround them.
